HIV Awareness

Date: 26th May 2021
Time: 11am – 1pm

By the end of the session you will:

• Understanding the difference between HIV and AIDS

• How HIV is transmitted and how to reduce the risk

• HIV prevalence in Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham

• HIV in BME populations in Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham

• Barriers to care – Stigma and discrimination

• Advances in treatment and testing options

• Where to go for help, advice and testing.

Men & STI Awareness

Date: 2nd June 2021
Time: 12pm – 2pm

The session aims:

• To increase your knowledge of black men’s sexual health

• To increase your knowledge on the comment STIs affecting black men in Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham

• Sexual transmitted infections (STIs)

• Be empowered to effectively discuss sexual health with your clients

• To ensure that you know how to access local health and support services in Lambeth, Southwark, and Lewisham.

• To reduce stigma and taboo and increase help-seeking behaviour around STIs for Black men, in particular, Syphilis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea

Sexual and Reproductive Health Training

NAZ is providing Sexual Reproductive Health Training to professionals and organisations who represent and support women in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham (LSL).

The 6 Hour training (split into 2 sessions) will cover topics such as

  • Introduction to Gender Theory
  • Sex and the Law (including consent, sexual assault and reckless transmission of HIV)
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
  • Reproductive health
  • Contraception Choices
  • Termination Options
  • Rights of migrants to access healthcare

Consent & the Law on Stealthing

The session aims:

• Identify what consent means

• To identify what stealthing means

• To increase your knowledge on Stealthing and the Law

• Identify common myths about sex, sexual violence, rape and consent

• Recognise the difference between consent and non-consenting

Healthy Relationships: Men supporting Men

Men & Contraception Awareness

• To increase your knowledge on contraception

• Explore ways to engage men in the conversation about contraception

• Encourage men to take more responsibility to understand contraception choices available so the burden of contraception doesn’t fall on one person
