For the general public

Too many Black, Asian and Latin American people in our community have subpar experiences when it comes to their sexual and reproductive health. Whether it’s a lack of cultural sensitivity at the clinic, stigma from family members, or practical issues like not being able to afford bus money to attend a cervical smear, we are failing individuals.

For health care professionals

It’s essential that all sexual health providers are equipped with the training to be responsive to different attitudes, verbal cues and body language of clients they are caring for.

We advocate for a continuous programme of professional development for GPs and other service providers to ensure provision is up to date with medical developments and intelligence on current and emerging challenges and treatments.

The partnership

The LSL Sexual Health Partnership has been commissioned by the boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham and is led by Brook, Shape History and Blueprint For All (formerly known as the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust) as well as a number of organisations and local community members who believe in an inclusive and culturally specific way of doing sexual health.
